the road?

Driver distraction is a major cause of road crashes. Distraction can include: 

• Taking your eyes off the road
• Taking your hands off the steering wheel and;
• Allowing your mind to drift elsewhere

Unfortunately, a short lapse of concentration can have lifelong consequences. So CPV drivers should always be aware of distractions.

Driving while distracted increases the risk of serious incident because it affects the attention and concentration of the driver - leading

to riskier decision making. It can affect reaction time as well as their awareness of what is happening around them.

Safe Transport Victoria is working together with the CPV industry to help make taxis and rideshares safer. Not just for passengers –

but for drivers as well.
